Day 75 Through The Bible
Day 75: Victory Through Spiritual Eyes
In our daily lives, we often face challenges that seem insurmountable. Whether it’s a difficult situation at work, a strained relationship, or a personal struggle, it's easy to view obstacles from a human perspective. When we look at the world through these "human eyes," fear and doubt can easily take root, and we may feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of the issues before us.
However, the Bible teaches us that there is another way to see—through spiritual eyes. When we view the world through the truth of God's Word, we see victory, not defeat.
Biblical Principle: Absolute Truth from God’s Word
The Bible gives us an incredible perspective on how we can face challenges. In Numbers 13:30-31, we read about the Israelites as they approached the Promised Land. When the spies returned from scouting the land, they gave a report highlighting the inhabitants' size and strength, and fear quickly spread among the people. Caleb, however, spoke out with boldness and faith, saying, “Let us go up at once and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Despite the terrifying reports from the other spies, Caleb knew victory was assured with God’s help.
But the other spies replied, “We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” Here, we see the two different ways of seeing the same situation: one through fear and the other through faith. The Israelites were looking through human eyes, which saw only obstacles. But Caleb was looking through spiritual eyes, which saw God's promised victory.
In 1 John 4:4, we are reminded of the power that is within us as believers: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” No matter the size of the obstacles we face, we have the One who is more significant than all—the Holy Spirit—living within us.
Practical Application: We Have Victory with Christ
What does it mean to live in victory? It means that no matter the battle, we know the outcome. We are not fighting for victory; we are fighting for victory. 1 John 5:4 reminds us, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Our faith in Christ gives us the strength and courage to overcome challenges.
1 Corinthians 15:57 says, “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” The victory is not ours to claim on our own, but through the power and grace of Jesus Christ. We are overcomers because He has already won the ultimate victory on the cross.
Furthermore, 2 Timothy 1:7 reassures us, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” When we face challenges, God does not leave us to struggle alone. He empowers us with His spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Fear may try to creep in, but with God, we have everything we need to face life with confidence and courage.
Walking in Victory
When facing obstacles, we must look through spiritual eyes rather than human eyes. Human eyes will see fear and defeat, but through the lens of God’s truth, spiritual eyes will always see victory. Jesus has already won the victory over sin, fear, and the world. We need to walk in that victory every day.
Next time you face a challenge, remember the truth of God’s Word: you are an overcomer, not by your strength, but because greater is He who is in you. Stand firm in that victory and watch how God moves in your life.
