Day 56 Through The Bible
Day 56: Using Our Skills for God's Work
Biblical Principle: Absolute Truth from God's Word
God has gifted each of us with unique skills and talents. These are not only meant to provide for our needs but also to be used for His glory. Just as Bezaleel, Aholiab, and other wise-hearted men in Exodus 36 were given wisdom and understanding for the sanctuary's work, we too are called to use our abilities for God’s service.
Exodus 36:1-7 (KJV)
"Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded..."
This passage reminds us that our skills and offerings should be our best—worthy of God. The Israelites gave so generously that Moses had to ask them to stop bringing offerings! Their hearts were stirred to contribute beyond what was needed.
Practical Application: How Can You Serve?
The principle from Exodus 36 challenges us to reflect on how we use our talents. God equips each of us for a purpose, and we should seek ways to dedicate our abilities to His work.
Here are some ways to apply this truth in daily life:
In the Church: Use your craftsmanship, music, teaching, or technical skills to contribute to ministry.
In the Community: Serve others by glorifying God through your profession, whether counseling, hospitality, or the creative arts.
In Giving: Just as the Israelites gave their best materials, we should offer our best efforts and resources to God.
Reflection
What skills has God given you?
How can you use them to serve Him better?
Are you offering your best to God, or just what is convenient?
May we, like the wise-hearted men in Exodus, allow God to stir our hearts to serve Him wholeheartedly.
