Day 45 Through The Bible
Day 45: The LORD is God – There is No Other
Biblical Principle: The Absolute Truth from God’s Word
God IS.
Throughout history, God has revealed Himself as the one true God. When He brought plagues upon Egypt, it was not just an act of judgment but a declaration of His divine authority. The first commandment states:
"I am the LORD thy God, which has brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me." – Exodus 20:2-3
This is not just a commandment but a statement of absolute truth. The LORD alone is God—there are no other gods. Therefore, placing another god before Him is impossible because false gods do not exist. Our faith must rest solely on the One who is and has always been.
Practical Application: Living Out This Truth
Understanding that God is the only true God transforms the way we live. Following His commandments is not about rigid rules but about loving Him and others with our entire being.
Jesus affirmed this when He said:
"The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." – Mark 12:29-31
Faith is not about sacrifices or religious obligations but a deep and personal relationship with the Lord. Our love for God should reflect in our daily lives, how we treat others, and the purpose behind our actions.
A Practical Step
One way to apply this truth is to start by acknowledging God’s sovereignty every day. Before engaging in any task, take a moment to recognize that He alone is God. Pray, reflect on His Word, and align your actions with His will. This daily habit ensures that our lives are centered on the reality of His presence.
Final Thought
God is not one option among many; He is the only reality. Recognizing this truth leads to genuine worship, obedience, and love. Let us live with the deliberate purpose of serving Him—not out of obligation but in love for who He is.
How will you honor God as the only true God in your life today?
