Day 34 Feb 3rd: The LORD IS – The Power of Accepting God's Truth Without Question

Biblical Principle: Absolute Truth from God’s Word

There is a difference between asking God for understanding and questioning His authority when we seek answers in life. The Bible teaches us that asking God for wisdom or guidance is not wrong, but we mustn't question His absolute truth.

"The LORD IS!" is a powerful declaration of God's existence, sovereignty, and unchanging nature. When we ask questions, especially in times of difficulty or uncertainty, we must do so with humility and a heart ready to accept God’s truth, not to challenge it. To question the truth is to risk hardening our hearts to the very wisdom that God offers.

Exodus 5:2 gives us an example of someone who questioned God’s truth. Pharaoh asks, “Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?” His words reflect a hardened heart, unwilling to accept God's authority. By questioning God's commands, Pharaoh’s heart became more resistant to God’s will, leading to his eventual downfall.

In Romans 9:17-19, the Apostle Paul reminds us of God's sovereignty over all creation. Even Pharaoh, who hardened his heart, was used by God for a higher purpose: to display His power. In these verses, Paul anticipates a question: “Why does God find fault if no one can resist His will?” The answer is that God’s mercy and justice are beyond human comprehension. We may not always understand His ways, but we must trust His will is perfect.

God's truth is not something we get to alter or challenge; it is absolute. In this sense, we must approach God's answers with a posture of submission rather than questioning. It is okay to seek clarity, but it is never OK to doubt or question the authority of the One who has all wisdom.

Practical Application:

So, what are you facing today that requires an answer from God? Are you seeking wisdom or direction in a decision? Or perhaps you're navigating an overwhelming challenge? The Bible assures us that we can ask God for answers and that He will give wisdom generously.

James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” God invites us to ask for understanding and promises to give it without hesitation. There is no limit to His wisdom, and He doesn’t rebuke us for seeking His guidance.

However, the key is to accept God's response without doubting or questioning it. Sometimes, God’s answer may not make immediate sense or challenge our desires and plans. But His wisdom is perfect, and His answers are always in our best interest. When we accept God's answers without questioning, we open ourselves to His will for our lives.

Reflection:

  1. Are there areas in your life where you are seeking answers from God? Write down those questions and bring them before Him in prayer today.

  2. When God speaks to you, are you open to His answers, even if they challenge your understanding? Take a moment to reflect on how you can align your heart with His truth, trusting that He knows what is best.

  3. Remember, it’s not wrong to ask God for wisdom, but we must be careful not to harden our hearts by questioning His truth. Trust that His ways are higher than ours and that He is always good.

As we obey God's word, remember that He is the Lord, and we are His creation. His truth is absolute; our role is to trust and follow, not to question or resist.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the wisdom You offer freely to those who ask. I bring my questions before You today, trusting that You will answer. Help me to receive Your guidance with a humble heart, accepting Your truth without questioning. Teach me to rely on Your sovereignty and trust that Your will is perfect. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Saved at the tender age of 5, Dan surrendered to preach at the age of 14; he preached his first sermon at 16 to his youth group. He was privileged to meet and to learn from many pillars of fundamentalism and outstanding preachers. From these men he developed a strong conviction on the truth of God’s Word.

Dan’s ministry experience is vast and varied. From starting four Christian service Bible clubs in college, to revitalizing churches and church ministries now for nearly 35 years. Direct one on one to ministry leaders as well as demostrating Biblical Worldview in the corporate world.
