Day 1 Through The Bible

Day 1: Absolute Truth from God’s Word

The foundation of faith begins with one powerful truth: God is. Everything originates from this reality. There is no one greater, no one before Him, and no one beside Him. God stands above and beyond all of creation. His existence and sovereignty are central to understanding everything else.

Let’s reflect on a few verses that emphasize this profound truth:

  • Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

  • The opening verse of the Bible establishes God as the Creator of everything. It’s the starting point of absolute truth.

  • Colossians 1:15–17:

  • 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

  • This passage points us to Christ, who is the image of God and the sustainer of all creation.

  • Isaiah 44:6:

  • Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, And his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; And beside me there is no God.

  • Here, God declares His uniqueness and eternal nature. He is the beginning and the end.

  • Revelation 22:13:

  • I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

  • Exodus 3:14:

  • And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

  • God identifies Himself as the eternal “I AM,” self-existent and unchanging.

  • Hebrews 13:8:

  • Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

  • John 1:1–3:

  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

  • These verses affirm that Christ, the Word, was present from the beginning and is the Creator of all things.

Why do we believe God exists? These scriptures provide undeniable clarity. They reveal God’s character, His authority, and His role as Creator and sustainer of life.

Practical Application: Living with God at the Center

Believing that God is transforms how we live each day. If God is the beginning of all things, it makes sense to begin each day by acknowledging Him.

  • Start your day with prayer. Before anything else, turn to God. A simple prayer such as, “Lord, I need You today,” sets the tone for a Christ-centered day.

  • Live with intentionality. Recognize that every part of your day—work, meals, relationships—can bring glory to God. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

  • Examine your daily activities. Make a list of everything you do, even tasks that seem mundane or unrelated to spirituality. Then evaluate them against biblical principles. Are your actions glorifying God? Are they consistent with His truth?

By making God the priority in every aspect of life, you affirm the absolute truth that God is. Let this truth guide your thoughts, words, and deeds each day.

What steps will you take today to align your life with this foundational truth?

Evangelist Dan Woltmann grew up in the home of full time Christian school teachers. Saved at the tender age of 5, Dan surrendered to preach at the age of 14; he preached his first sermon at 16 to his youth group. He was privileged to meet and to learn from many pillars of fundamentalism and outstanding preachers. From these men he developed a strong conviction on the truth of God’s Word.

Dan’s ministry experience is vast and varied. From starting four Christian service Bible clubs in college, to revitalizing churches and church ministries now for nearly 35 years. Direct one on one to ministry leaders as well as demostrating Biblical Worldview in the corporate world.
